V&S Railway, LLC - Medicine Lodge Division

The Medicine Lodge Line consists of 22 miles of track extending from Medicine Lodge, KS to Attica, KS. Where the railway interchanges with the BNSF Railway. The Medicine Lodge Line serves various customers; including National Gypsum Company, Wildcat Minerals and the Farmers Co-op. Traffic consists of gypsum wallboard, plaster, grain, frac sand and petroleum. Along with providing freight service, the railway stores and repairs rail cars.

The Medicine Lodge Line traces its origin back to 1886, when the Southern Kansas Company built a rail line from Attica to Medicine Lodge. The Atchison Topeka and Sante Fe Railway assumed ownership of the railroad the following year. V&S Railway purchased the Medicine Lodge Line and commenced operations in 2000.
